Green Vision began a decade ago as a small vocational program in a school setting. The idea began with Tim Butler, a true pioneer in combining supported employment for those with disabilities and responsible, certified recycling. We now have multiple locations, to which we are adding yearly. As we look around the state and even the country, there are many programs that are using our model. It’s flattering to see the effect it is having across the nation. The replication of our mission and business model enables more and more adults to have a meaningful job that they love!! Just remember:
IF IT DOESN’T SAY GREEN VISION IN THE NAME, IT’S NOT THE REAL THING!!!
Admittedly, GVI is wary of endorsing replicative programs solely because there are safety and federal guidelines that need to be followed to ensure proper worker safety and long-term soil/water quality. Green Vision maintains the highest certifications. We are R2:2013, ISO 14001, and OSHA 18001 certified. Meaning that we are recycling responsibly and have created effective health and safety protocols. Please, parents, for your children’s sake, make sure any electronics recycling program that you use has these same certifications and/or is working as a Green Vision affiliate.
Please note: Green Vision does not endorse Abilities of NW NJ in Warren County or The Allegro School in Cedar Knolls for the reasons stated above.
